| The Bible is
more than words on a page. It is God's living Word spoken directly
to our hearts. It renews and restores us. And therefore it is vital to be
in His Word! But, many of us struggle with the spiritual disciplines of Bible
study and prayer.
At Marietta Community Church we press on
together to daily be in God's Word and talk with Him. Click
here to find the Bible reading that many of us will study today. We invite
you to use the acronym SOAP and the printable journal pages to get into the
Scripture and hear God's voice speaking directly to you.
Soon a discussion board will be available
to discuss what God is showing us in His Word. Plus you can follow Pastor
Brian's Blog as he studies these same passages.
Let us meet God together in the pages of
His Word!

Scripture
Take today's Bible reading, pray over it
and then read through slowly. God will direct your attention to certain verses
or sections. Write these down in your journal and focus your study
there. |
 |
Observe
What is God showing you in this passage?
Jot down in your journal any words or events that stand out. Are there any
truths God wants you to learn? Warnings? Commands? Guiding principles? Record
those in your journal. Now what is the overall message God has for you in
this passage? |
 |
Apply
Now it's time to get personal. How does
this affect your life? Does God have instruction for you today? Encouragement?
Correction? Write down in your journal God's personal message to
you. |
 |
Pray
Prayer is a two-way conversation with God.
You may find that as you pray over what God has shown you, He will reveal
even more that He is wanting to show. Be listening and journal your prayers!
